WHERE
DID THE TERM "SPANKIN' SAUCE" COME FROM?
As a young boy, Gunner (aka: the Grill Meister)
would work a roadside BBQ stand with his brother on the weekends to
earn extra money and feed beach bound traffic. Gunner used a small mop
utensil to coat the chicken on the grill as he walked down the line.
One day a customer commented that it appeared Gunner was "Spankin'"
the chicken with the small mop headed utensil. The term just stuck.
IS
THERE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF PEOPLE YOU WILL CATER FOR? WHAT ABOUT A MAXIMUM?
The Grill Meister is equipped to handle any size
crowd. Obviously the more the merrier. Small parties of less than a
dozen people are also a great time. It really depends on your needs
and budget. We are here to Spank It!
HOW
MANY CONTESTS DO YOU ENTER IN ANY GIVEN YEAR?
As many as possible. We travel across the country
for some events which can be time draining, so it all depends on how
busy the catering business is at the time.
ARE
YOU AFFILIATED WITH ANY PROFESSIONAL GROUPS?
Absolutely yes. The National Barbecue Association
as well as the Kansas City Barbecue Society are both fantastic organizations
which connect professionals from across the country and even around
the world. Barbecue is very big, bigger than most people realize. The
community of BBQ professionals is very tight knit and supportive. We
value these relationships very much.
WHAT'S
COMING UP ON THE WEBSITE?
Well, we would like to become an information center
more than anything else. We have Nationally recognized products which
we can retail from the site, but we also have many years of experience
and know how. We will be presenting this knowledge base to you, the
general public, to raise awareness about the finer aspects of BBQ and
grilling in general and of course we intend to show you how to Spank
your meat the Grill Meister way!
